Last week I went camping near Lake Michigan with friends who are like family. It has been years since I last camped and it was as great as I remembered!
It was PERFECT tent weather–cool in the evenings and sunny in the day. I hiked trails, read in my hammock, played in the sand with the kids at the lake, and drank lots of hot tea around the campfire.
One afternoon we went on a dune ride, an excursion I highly recommend! I’ve lived here three years and had no clue there were dunes like this on Lake Michigan. It was amazingly beautiful and loads of fun!
What a blessing these smiling faces are to me!
Several evenings I walked alone to the beach to watch the sunset. It is actually the few moments following the sunset that I love the most, similar to the soft haze at predawn. There’s something very calming and restorative about it, isn’t there?
