She sits there across the way,
My grace-filled friend,
Salty drops escaping her eyes.
I see the pain, I see the hurt,
But try as I might
I cannot relieve her burden.

But friend, I see you. I feel for you.
I long to wipe away your tears
And pour balm over your fears.
If only I could make it right.

She smiles and tries to be strong,
My grace-filled friend.
But if you listen you can hear her sigh.
The ache is real and unrelenting.
But try as I might,
I cannot relieve her burden.

But I see you. I feel for you.
I long to wipe away your tears
And pour balm over your fears.
If only I could make it right.

You won’t hear her complain,
My grace-filled friend.
Though she battles through the night,
She bears it all bravely for others.
And try as I might,
I cannot relieve her burden.

But I see you. I feel for you.
I long to wipe away your tears
And pour balm over your fears.
If only I could make it right.

Though I may fail you,
And circumstances never change,
There is hope.
There is peace.
Yes, there is joy.
Our Abba Father opens wide His arms to you.

He sees you. He feels for you.
He bottles up those tears
And pours balm over your fears.
He will make all things right.

He will relieve your burden.

Written for three grace-filled friends whose pain is real, but whose God is bigger. Thank you for pointing me to Christ.
